Happy Easter!

HE IS RISEN INDEED! We hope you had a great Easter celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ!

Here are a few memories of our Easter travels to La Grange and Katy. It is so special to share this day with family.

Hook 'Em Horns????

What?! Yeah, I know. This may be the first time that I cheered for the Longhorns. It felt weird, and even a little wrong.

Cody (Lee’s little brother) is finishing up his last semester at UT. He played for the men’s club volleyball team, and they made it to the national tournament. Which lucky for us was in Houston! So, we were able to watch a few matches and cheer on Cody…and I guess the rest of his fellow longhorns.

I must say, men’s volleyball is awesome. I think someone could seriously get hurt with the way they can pound the ball over the net. I’m sort of sad that Cody won’t be playing again next year, but I guess you have to graduate some time.

Here are a couple of pictures that Lee’s sister sent us of Kara and the team. The guys definitely towered over Kara. Sometimes it looked as though she was going to fall over backwards when looking straight up at them. The team was so nice. They gave Kara high fives and a lot of attention…which she loved!

Zoobilee: the details

So, we posted that picture of Kara in the piranha tunnel with little to no explanation. Zoobilee is an event hosted by the Houston Zoo. We were invited to come to the zoo after hours and participate in games, have snacks, and basically enjoy the place when it wasn't scorching hot. It may have been our best zoo trip ever.

One of the things that made it a great trip was that Kara has become aware of the animals. She "breeeeee"ed when she saw the elephants, "lizzzzz"ed when we looked at the Komodo Dragons, "meow"ed at the picture of a meerkat (she thinks meerkats are cats), and excitedly signed "fish" when we visited the piranhas.

For those who have not seen our little dancer, here is a video of Kara rocking out at the DJ booth. I also recommend watching some of the kids in the background, they have some pretty great moves. I apologize in advance because I didn't know that you shouldn't try different angles while taking video. The editing has made it choppy, but at least you will be able to watch without having to turn your head to the side!
